The guy ridicules Canada and how we do business for no reason after he is asked question about offer!! He calls us socialist (well I should not feel disrespected or insulted for this one maybe!) acts like a cocky, immature, impatient child in an interview and I don’t know why he was so pissed off with the questions.
Seriously which one of his questions of his interview with TSN was stupid, boring or etc?
This is the guy who has been accused of money laundering, steroid abuse, has been submitted almost every other match who runs his mouth all the time. I can’t wait to see Anderson knocks him out this time.
It is cool to sell yourself as a character and sell tickets, what you did Mr. Sonnen was not cool at all. You did not like the questions, be a little bit professional and respond appropriately. I am sure tons of fighters have been asked questions which they have not liked or have found boring but I have not seen anybody do what you did.
You call GSP, Grease St. Pierre and admire him as a fighter. Dude I just can’t understand you!
You make fun of fighters, ring girls, commentators, countries…do you have respect for anyone but yourself?!
I spotted a post tonight from theatlantic.com about a California fight club created by geeks working at the big names in tech that we all know like Google and Apple, among others. The urge to stand and bang is finding its way deeper into society, where people are taking their stress of their work and lives and turning it into power. They do bare knuckles, stick fighting, and then have fun with toys like a dustbuster battle, chairs, and computer keyboards.
Hmm, I wonder if they have any room down there? I am a PHP coder, I wonder if I could get down there and kick some dev butt. In tech, I have noticed that people’s lifestyles gravitate to one of two poles: they are either vegan bike riders, or they are Jabba the Hut. Good to see these people considering the choices to make in their lives, and contemplating the meaning of the fight.
Tommy Conlon returns to his hometown of Pittsburgh and enlists his father, a recovered alcoholic and his former coach, to train him for an MMA tournament awarding the biggest purse in the history of the sport. Meanwhile, his estranged brother, Brendan, a former MMA fighter unable to make ends meet as a public school teacher, returns to the amateur ring to provide for his family after being suspended from his day job. When Brendan’s unlikely rise as an underdog sets him on a collision course with Tommy, the two brothers must finally confront the forces that tore them apart, all the while waging the most intense, winner-takes-all battle of their lives.

Two hard working days learning a ton of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu with the Master, Royce Gracie at Versus Training Center over the weekend. We worked hard, rolled hard, and learned lots of new tricks. Congrats to Tyson, Tom, Kiarash and others on their belt promotions.
Need an enforcer? UFC and Boost Mobile have teamed up to offer a contest for the rest of us working stiffs. Got an asshole co-worker that messes with your shit, or some job that is just plain shitty? You aint gettin no respect? DUDE! You can enter the contest UFC and Boost Mobile are offering to bring in a UFC fighter on your job. Who better than a battle hardened cage fighter to make people listen and respect you? Come to think of it, I could have used someone like Rich Franklin many times over in the workplace to straighten out jerk offs that pushed me around. Dana White could be on to something here.
Summer Slugfest V is tonight at the Bay Street Armory in Victoria. Checking in on my FB account today, I noticed that some fighters are throwin’ down some tough talk in the lead up to the beat down tonight. Its going to be a great fight night in Victoria.

Vancouver switched into MMA mode with a double stacked weekend with MMA Expo in town at the trade and convention centre for two days, and the UFC 131 Circus in town. All this, right after the mayhem in the streets with 200,000 hockey fans when Vancouver Canucks won game 5 on Friday Night.
MMA is still growing out on the west coast and now even major media is taking note, with CBC even stopping by MMA Expo to look in on the growth of the sport. The Expo was well received in Vancouver with fans filling the hall to get deals on gear, photos and autographs for fans, and to watch or take part in the tournament and celebrity seminar run by top level trainers and fighters. The expo had everything to delight fans with photos and autographs with mma fighters like Jake Sheilds, Shonie Carter, Matt Serra, Carlos Newton, Stefan Struve, Thiago Alves and others. There were long lineups to meet the big names, but hey, sometimes it has to be done. There were also a bevy of MMA Hotties making the rounds at the event.
It was good to see some friends there like MMAsucka, F.I.L.E.S. Magazine, Battlefield Fight League, Westcoast promotions, and others.
Swag is my favourite part of trade shows, and the booths were generous with stickers, drinks (did I mention that Rockstar has a lager beer out now), sports supplements, coupons, t-shirts, posters, and more.
We know that many loyal MMA fans have had their attention redirected by the hockey fever going on in our city, but its clear that the sport and fans of MMA still have managed to make a huge impression on life in Vancouver.
