Fighter Tija Stanley Is Looking For Sponsors and Fights

Tija Stanley in St. Kitts is a fighter looking for a fight. Having recently tried his hand at MMA, he now holds a 2-0 record and is the holder of the belt title for the CKGSF Amateur MMA Heavyweight Championship. Stanley is looking for more MMA and kickboxing matches to build upon his reputation and says he is willing to work hard and ready to go where the fighting is. Stanley says he will not disappoint while in the pursuit of his dreams. Stanley is 5’11” in height and walks around at about 208lbs.

The fight scene in St. Kitts is still at its fledgling stage. That is why he is looking for fight contacts, sponsors, promoters, and people who can help him get his career in fighting to the next level. With more experience in the cage, he is hoping to start a top-level fight gym for fighters in St. Kitts. He also says that The Caribbean has a whirlpool of good talent and the world just needs a chance to see it.

2	MMA Bantamweight 135 lbs	Olivier Evansher, Universal Martial Arts Vancouver BC	Def.	Mat Shannon, independent, Maple Ridge BC	A drubbing by Oliver Evansher ending at 53 seconds by chokeout. Nice body slams!
3	Muay Thai Welterweight 147 lbs	Terrance Viloria Mendoza Fight Team Surrey BC	Def.	Pat Alec North Shore Fight Team North Vancouver BC	Bit of a delay for the judges on this one. A split decision goes to Terrance Viloria, who poured on great action on Alec in the third round and took his game apart.
4	Muay Thai Heavyweight 205 lbs	Lloyd Kenny, Williams Lake Muay Thai Williams Lake BC	Def.	David Correa Crisis MMA Olympia Wa	1:27 Round Correa took a knee and his corner conceded. Kenny looked tight and had hard flurries for Correa. Early on, Correa who is more of an mma player, did not look like an organized kickboxer. Usually we hear about the other way around, where kickboxers dont make a good transition into MMA.
5	Muay Thai Middleweight 165 lbs	Stas Tatarinov WACHAL’S Martial Arts Surrey BC	Def.	Andrew Munro Independent Port Coquitlam BC	Tatarinov wins by referee stoppage after a standing eight count.
6	Muay Thai Western Canadian Welterweight Title	Tom Mattu WKX Surrey BC	Def.	Leigh T. Mueller Canada’s Best Karate Victoria BC	Tom Mattu wins by Judges unanimous decision. Mattu’s kick landing must have been a deciding factor in this championship matchup.
7	MMA NAC Flyweight Title	Cheryl Chan Mendoza Fight Team Surrey BC	Def.	Jamie Gonzales Charlie’s Fight Club Everett, Wa	Tapout by triangle choke and armbar in round 2. We saw a case of how working a fighter in guard up against a cage doesnt work that way with a roped ring. The fight had to be brought back to the center and stood up a number of times. Chan just bided her time and showed off a win buy triangle from the bottom position.
8	MMA Middleweight 175 lbs	Edward Banezik Surrey Martial Arts Academy	Def.	Marquez Bryant Crisis MMA Olympia WA	Bryant did not pass physical, so the fight was conceded to Baneziek.
9	Muay Thai Welterweight 145lbs	Josh Jauncey WKX Surrey BC	Def.	Chris Ferguson Mas Thai Boxing Cambridge Ont.	Jauncey took out Ferguson quickly with a standing eight count before the first minute and then put him down again to end the fight at 1:50 of round 1.
10	MMA NAC Welterweight Title	Cass Young Team Bad Boy Outreach Surrey BC	Def.	Brett Lucero Crisis MMA Olympia Wa	Broken nose and bloody, Cass managed to keep dominant on Lucero. Judges unanimous decision.
11	Muay Thai NAC Light Cruiserweight Title	Adam Blanchette Iron City Muay Thai Vancouver BC	Def.	Martello Jones Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts Ottawa On	Adam Blanchette wins by judges unanimous decision. Blanchette kept a hard and tough clinch game on Jones for much of the match.

Claude Sanders: This is what I train for… scoring with his leg kicks is what I train for, makes it painful for him if he doesnt block them.

Iouri Saveliev vs Lute Ganeif

Iouri Saveliev: I remember most of it, happens so fast, hard to remember. Took a hard right at one point. In my training I practiced a lot of Jiu-jitsu, heard my coach calling pass pass pass, got the armbar, and next thing I know that was it.

Terrance Viloria vs Justin Viejou

Terrance Viloria: I should have worked my jab more, but a fight’s a fight. I heard he was lanky, long, … The first leg kick I had on him hurt him so I thought if this works I should do this more.

Navi Marzary vs Jeremy Neufeld

Navi Marzary: I fought him once before, he stopped half way through the first round. I dont know why he wanted a rematch, so I wasnt expecting it to go long.

Ricky Keohavong vs Ab Shubear

Ricky Keohavong: I trained hard for a different fighter, for 194 he pulled out at the last minute and this guy was 230, but I am a fighter, so I’ll take the fight.

Novic Pavic vs Jordan Howes

Novic Pavic: Didnt win the way I wanted to, didnt show all my skills, but I’m still happy with the win.

Robin Laybourne vs Lloyd Kenny

Robin Laybourne: I am grateful for my trainers, Caleb Starnes, 120 friends in the audience, lots of people get surprised by the agility of such a big guy, training with good guys is the only way that I won.

Sasha Tadayoni vs Jean Allard

The Referee would call and end to the fight after the third knockdown at the end of round 1. Tatayoni, a Kyokushin karate practitioner, showed of dynamite leg kicks including a triple combination that was lightning fast, had to be seen.

Tony Vaga vs Matt Riley

Tony Vaga: I really took it to my opponent, I wasnt sure why the fight was stood up when it should have been called.

Hardeep Saran vs Toby Cleary

Hardeep Saran: Going into the fight I was confident, had a good game plan. Inder Bisla helped me a lot with my kicks.

Josh Jauncey vs Ruel Copeland

Josh Jauncey: We knew he was going to fight quite Thai style… he was heavy on his legs; I wasnt able to get him with the inside low kick. After this I am looking to fight in the Netherlands in the future.

Stas Tatarinov vs Alan Day

Stas Tatarinov: I blocked some leg kicks, that’s why I have some bruises… the guy towered over him in the ring a bit, and I took the fight for the challenge.

James Hansen vs Chad Gerow

James Hansen: It wasnt so much of a battle of attrition, we really tried to feel out each other in the first round, we didnt push our pace and I picked my shots. I will be back in the gym right away for a fight under Master Song.

Jesse Rice-Jones vs Alfonso Cavero

Cavero almost had Rice-Jones in a rear naked choke but Jones was able to get out of it and to his feet after a monumental struggle. He was able to corner Cavero and pound him out to win by referee stoppage in round 1.

An awesome night at the Vogue for Battlefield Fight League 11 brought another wild Marinos brother into the cage, and the settling of a grudge main card… for now…

1	Terrence Chan	Def.	Tony Nguyen	Round 2 referee stoppage due to unreturned blows.
2	Curtis Harriot	Def.	Lupine Wills	Tapout, round 2, 45 seconds, leg triangle.
3	Sean Roche	Def.	Jason Noble	Roche got Noble on the ground and into a kimura quickly and definitely early in round 1. The lock was in and then came the tapout.
4	Steven Best	Def.	Alex Green	An exciting fight through to the end of 3 rounds, to a decision. Steven Best pretty much owned the top position over Alex Green who was turtling, but to get there, Best had to use a solid defense before he would have the chance to totally dominate the second half of round 3.
5	Andy Marinos	Def.	Brandon Takahara	Takahara pushed Andy against the cage, but eventually managed to sweep and take the top. Takahara had to fight off a hard aggressive choke against the fence until the end of round 1. Round 2 was a standup battle, with Takahara’s corner telling him to get in there and punch. Marinos responded in kind and put the entertaining fight on the ground to bring about an end by referee stoppage. ‘Tricky’Nick Marinos in Andy’s corner of course.
6	Josh Lewis	Def.	Jeremy Peever	Beginning of round 2, Lewis got in a deep front guillotine on Peever who otherwise was holding his own well. Peever signaled the tapout.
7	Levon Kinley	Def.	Dillon Brown	Brown spent a lot of time controlling Kinley in guillotine in both rounds. It seemed like it was working until he tried to open up his strategy, causing him to lose the control he had over Kinley, leading to his back being exposed. Kinley got in the rear naked choke and a win by tapout.
8	Ash ‘Smash’ Mashregi	Def.	Kolten Higginbottom	Very fast win for Smash. Quickly to the ground in guard, Mashregi crawled with Higginbottom over to the fence and took control to force a tapout at 35 seconds due to strikes.
9	Adam Santos Team Narita Richmond.	Def.	Micah Brakefield	Against the cage and Santos got behind him and laid a series of hammer fists to the side of the head and the referee called stoppage at 22 seconds.

1	MMA featherweight 145 lbs.	Bazooka Jojo Independent, Vancouver BC	Def.	Mad Dog Littlechild, Kaetan MMA Prince George BC.	In the beginning of round 3 Jojo offered Mad Dog a hug instead of simply touching gloves, and then followed it up with a kick to the nuts, the oldest trick in the book. But the referee saw what looked like a knockout, and called the fight. Unfortunate, but we have to respect the referee’s call. Bazooka Joe did show well with an awesome single strike in round 1, and a great reversal on the ground in round 2. He would have won it the way he was going, so it is a bit of a mystery as to why he went into round 3 like that.
2	MMA Featherweight 145lbs.	Brendan Kim Infinity MMA Langley BC.	Def.	Johnny Bamford Comox Valley Boxing Club & MMA, Comox, BC.	Round 1 ground and pound, after a very quick nervous start by Bamford, Kim managed to work him against the cage wall and finished him on the ground.
3	MMA Featherweight 145lbs.	Christian Tremayne Infinity MMA Langley BC.	Def.	Phillip Romanov Comox Valley Boxing & MMA, Comox BC.	Ground and pound, round 1.
4	MMA Catchweight 160 lbs.	Ben Smyth, World Class Martial Arts, Langley BC.	Def.	Eli Royakers, Dragon’s Den Elite, White Rock BC.	Round 2 2:40, victory by ref stoppage, Smyth showed well with a few dramatic strikes and takedowns that gave him the upper hand in a center mat battle, turning a potential sweep into a strike that gave him the opportunity to finish.
	Exhibition grappling match.	Rico Branson, Ragin MMA.	-	CJ Strongheart, Prince George.	By 2 submissions, and one catch. Armbar and rear naked choke.
5	MMA Lightweight 155 lbs.	Ron Pearce, South Island MMA, Mill Bay BC.	Def.	Tim Kenney, Raw Academy, Vancouver BC.	Pearce and Kenney had a fantastic battle and it ended in round 1, 2:12, when Pearce landed a knee strike. Great suplex and front choke attempt, great boxing and kicks from both of them.
6	MMA 185 lbs Catchweight.	Fraser Jordan, Comox Valley Boxing Club & MMA, Comox, BC.	Def.	Dave Ferguson, Independent, Vancouver BC.	Rear naked choke, round 1, 53 seconds. Jordan was able to get back position and put in a deep stranglehold.
7	Muay Thai WCMT Super Welterweight Title 154 lbs. 5 rounds.	Alex Tribe, Peterec’s Martial Arts, Victoria, BC.	Def.	Josh Wright, Dragon’s Den, Elite, White Rock BC.	Round 4, ref stoppage unreturned blows. 1 minute 50 seconds. The fighters both showed lots of aggression with their striking and attacks and brought up the energy of the whole night to a new level. Tribe laid a couple of hard flurries on Wright while against the cage wall, both shared heavy knee exchanges.
8	MMA WCMMA Bantamweight Title 135 lbs.	Olivier Vajda, Carlson Gracie Fight Team, Maple Ridge BC.	Def.	Jordan Manning, Phoenix Rising, Sechelt BC.	Manning got popped on the button at the start of the round and had to end up fending off Vajda’s ground attacks, which he did valiantly, until he got caught in a leg triangle choke at 2:24 of round 1 in this exciting battle.
9	MMA WCMMA Welterweight Title 170lbs.	Saeid ‘The Prince of Persia’ Mirzaei, Reality Martial Arts, Vancouver BC.	Def.	Victor ‘The Dragon’ Wang, Posener’s Pankration & Muay Thai, Vancouver, BC.	3 rounds of blood. Doctor stoppage after the third round. Stoppage almost happened at the beginning of round 1 when the ref called in the doctor to look at Victor’s eye, which was already closed and bleeding. Victor took several cuts, body slams, and ground battles which obviously took its toll. Smeared in blood by the end of 3 the doctor called it. Saeed Mirzaei has a ton of potential, and we will be looking forward to more from him.
